About Us
On April 12th 2004, the doors to Paul Coffey's Bolton Toyota opened to the public for the first time. So too, did the doors to the business world for Owner and President
Paul Coffey. Upon retiring in 2000 from a 20 year NHL career, one in which he set multiple records for a defenceman and retired with 3 Norris Trophies, 4 Stanley Cups and 10th all time in scoring, Paul decided to turn his attention to his young family.
Paul wrestled with the idea of coaching. He even did some consulting work with the Phoenix Coyotes, a team in which his old friend Wayne Gretzky coaches.
Coaching though, just like playing, takes too much focus and time away from the home. Paul loves people and turned his attention to the car business.
Since opening the doors three years ago, on a sizeable piece of land on Highway 50, entering Bolton, Paul added a Nissan dealership in Kitchener to his growing car empire. As quoted in a February story from the National Post, Paul told a reporter "When a customer comes in I'll go introdue myself and the conversation goes one of two ways. It'll be, 'Oh great, I watched you play, and Gretzky this-and-that.' And then it's an easy transition for me to start asking about them, their family, and do their kids play hockey. But then you get the others that say: 'I don't watch hockey at all, and I'm not even a hockey fan. And I'll say: You know what? Neither am I. I'm in the car business now. What can we do for you?"
Boltontoyota is just the next component in a long and ever-growing new career for Paul Coffey
